Community Food Assistance Programs

Below is information on the community assistance programs that SSUMC supports. If you are looking for a way to support these organizations or you need assistance yourself, here is where you can go:

Pantry Plus More

https://www.pantryplusmore.org/

Pantry Plus More can always use peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna or ham, bread, jelly, spaghetti sauce, mac N cheese, diced tomatoes, rice, and hand soap. These items can be dropped off at 9 Rousch Drive in Westover across from Launchpad Trampoline Park any time day or night. We have blue barrels there for donations - no need to interact with anyone so you can keep your social distancing intact!

Also, you can sign up on www.krogercommunityrewards.com and make The Pantry Plus More your charity.

THU
Yoga
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Viniyoga specifically recognizes that there are different practices needed at different stages of life. And, if you’re in the “householder” or “elder” phase your practice needs to be different from the “youth” or “student” phase. These classes are geared to people in the householder or elder stage.
No special equipment is needed though it is recommended to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. The entire class will be taught with students sitting in or standing next to a chair. Different variations will be provided to allow people with different joint problems and other health conditions to participate. There is an emphasis on breathing so the breath supports the postures. Each class will include some meditative practices that are unique to yoga, such as visualizing a flowing brook or full moon or placing the palms of the hands over the eyes or the heart.
Instructor, Deborah Layton, has been a yoga practitioner for 25 years, a teacher since 2004, and is currently in a 1000 hour yoga therapy training.
Classes will begin on Thursday, March 5th from
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM via Zoom, https://us02web.zoom.us/j/193163549
Class will continue on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays.
Free and open to everyone!
