Spruce Street United Methodist Church has been chosen to partner with Wesley United Methodist Church in the role of West Virginia University Campus Ministry. This ministry gives students the opportunity to:
Fuel a passion for service: Campus Ministries connect students with opportunities to serve their communities, both locally and globally. From local food banks to international mission trips, students make a lasting impact and discover the joy of giving back.
Develop strong leadership skills: College is a crucial time for leadership development. Campus Ministries provide a safe space for students to hone their leadership skills while deepening their faith. They’ll learn to inspire others and become leaders who make a positive difference.
Find a supportive Christian community: College can feel isolating. Campus Ministries offer a welcoming network of fellow believers, a place to connect, share struggles, celebrate victories, and grow together in their faith. Students won’t have to walk this journey alone!
At Spruce Street United Methodist Church we plan to:
Formulate a curriculum for small Christian Student Groups through website, social media presence, and communication.
Establish college age Sunday School Classes.
Identify an Intern who can help with the Campus Ministry, and help them discern a personal call to ministry.
Develop a Retiree Small Group Ministry for prayer and fellowship outside the church to create community, and let them know that the church can be there for them.
In like fashion we also plan to develop a Faculty Ministry, Staff Ministry, and Alumni Ministry.
