Spruce Street United Methodist Church houses several programs and ministries for children.
Playgroup: Spruce St Playgroup is our free playgroup for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers! This program strives to support other local groups that serve children and families in Morgantown. You’ll often see wonderful non-profits working with the playgroup to create fun events for the community. We’ve hosted The Literacy Volunteers of Mon County, Monongalia Starting Points, Birth to Three, Morgantown Parents Place, and many more!

Bath and Books Ministry: Our Bath and Books program supplies over 130 area children with free books and fun character towels each year!
Messy Church: Sometimes the traditional Sunday morning service doesn’t meet your family’s needs. Messy Church is our quick and fun evening service that meets every third Sunday of the month. We provide activities for both adults and children, a moment of worship, and a meal.
Scouts: First Meeting September 15th at 3:30PM right before Messy Church.
We are starting our own Cub Scout pack at Spruce St UMC! This pack is designed to be open to boys and girls and will be comprised of Lions and Tigers – kindergarteners and first graders. Pack 50 will focus on service, adventure, inclusion, and learning from each other. This is a flexible, sensory-friendly, neuro-affirming group. The Pack meets every first Thursday evening of the month for outdoor adventures, and every 3rd Sunday afternoon before Messy Church.
