Prayer Shawl and Crochet

In the 5 years since our Prayer Shawl Ministry started, we’ve seen blessings we never imagined. Our initial project of providing a few prayer shawls to help those who needed to know that someone cared, has blossomed into a ministry that has provided over 3000 shawls and has seen many changes.

With your support we’ve expanded our ministry to include baby caps and booties for our Children’s Hospital, dishcloths for the Shoebox project and for Burlington, hearts for our shut-ins, winter caps and scarves, chemo caps, prayer squares, angel hugs, cross in your pocket, poppies to honor our veterans, slippers for HealthRight, and baby comfort blankets for the WVU Same Day Surgery Unit as well as new shawls.  Most of our projects are crocheted, but we also have knitters and one gal who does counted cross stitch. All projects are given at no charge. Everyone who has create one of our projects, received one, given one, suggested a project, donated yarn or money for yarn, or prayed for our ministry has participated in this ministry.

Our core group meets on Tuesdays at 10AM. You are always welcomed to attend whether you’re wanting to learn, a beginner, or an experienced crafter. If you cannot meet with us and would like participate, we have patterns that we will share.
