The Barnabas Group started in 2019 as a way to encourage the congregation, one person at a time. Meeting monthly, we lift up life’s moments through celebrating, supporting, and offering comfort to church members through letter writing. The groups we send cards to include birthdays, home bound/shut ins, persons needing extra care since COVID, and those with life changing situations. We strive to make everybody count. We are as blessed as those that we support through this outreach ministry.
We send out between 45-55 cards monthly, not including special occasions such as Veteran’s Day. In the 4.5 years we have been together, we have sent out over 3,000 cards. All materials and supplies, as well as stamps are furnished through donation. To date that is over 1,650.00 in stamp donations! We get thank you notes on occasion for the support or encouragement we gave when it was needed. We try to share a message of peace and joy.
